I had the opportunity to travel to and around the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica in August 2024 with other Travel Advisors to get an intense look at a small part of the country. On this page I'll highlight some of that trip.

Here is are some of the hotels I had the priveledge of staying in while on my trip to Costa Rica. They were all gorgeous places, each with their own unique personality. For more pictures or information on these hotels, please contact me.
This was a beautiful hotel located in a historic building about 15 mins from the San Jose Airport. It is a tobacco farm, turned coffee plantation, turned hotel. They are a family friendly hotel with historical tours, cooking classes, cocktail classes, a pool, tennis courts, and more.
Is a gorgeous hotel located in Jaco, Costa Rica right on the beach. They have a huge pool, casino, fabulous restaurants onsite and close to many activities, including ziplining, horseback riding and surfing lessons. There is a also a spa on site if you you need a relaxing treatment after a day of adventuring.
This is a rustic hotel in the jungle about 1.5hrs from San Jose. There is a beach close by for snorkeling, diving and relaxing. You can choose from different meal plans to suit your needs and there is also multiple pools onsite. I saw a lot of scarlet macaws, a baby sea turtle and more on my short stay here.
This spectacular hotel is located in the Osa Peninsula in the Gulfo Dulce and next to Corcovado National Park. This area holds 2.5% of the world's biodiversity and Botánika is a resort sanctuary nestled in the jungle for pure relaxation, nature immersion and adventure at your fingertips. This is a beautiful destination everyone should visit!
This hotel is located about 20 mins from the San Jose Airport and is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and hiking trails to beautiful waterfalls. The onsite spa is a tropical oasis overlooking the city. They have 2 pools, an onsite restaurant with vibrant art and sculpture incorporated throughout the property. The rooms have huge terraces that over look the city with small kitchenettes and tonnes of space.
Here are some of the Activities we did on our whirlwind tour.
There are lots of activities to choose from to suit your interests and needs.
Located in the Central valley, minutes from Jaco Beach, Rainforest Adventures offers ziplining, aerial tram rides, hiking, a high ropes course and more! The staff working the zipline were fantastic as I was a ball of nerves (I don't like heights) and they made this such a fun and enjoyable experience. We ziplined down 9 lines in and above the rainforest canopy, and I even saw some Tucans in the wild!
Tucanes Tours located just outside Manuel Antonio National Park offers many activities to suit any interest. They have guided walking tours in the park, mangrove boat tours, whitwater rafting, cooking classes and more! We participated in a cooking class where we made plantain ceviche, chocolate cookies and were served a delicious lunch to go with it. We had a short farm tour as well while lunch was being prepped. This is a great company with many offerings!
We flew from Puerto Jiminez back to San Jose on Sansa Air. It is a 40 minute flight and I recommend going early in the morning especially during rainy season as it tends to be stormy later in the day. We had a smooth flight and were able to see some beautiful scenery along the way.
We had the opportunity to head out onto the waters of Gulfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf) off the coast of Puerto Jiminez to look for dolphins and whales. We saw many Spotted Dolphins and Humpback Whales that have come into the quiet fjord to mate raise their young. It was a great few hours with lots of sightings of both species!
We didn't get to stay here but we had a tour of the property and had a delicious lunch. It is a beautiful eco-lodge nestled in the rainforest only accessible by boat, close to Puerto Jiménez. There are hiking trails, yoga, snorkeling and more. This is a place to unwind and disconnect from the world and soak in the wild nature around you.
We visited Hacienda Doka Coffee Plantation just outside of San Jose for a Coffee Tour. This is a fantastic and information filled tour of everything from the first plantings of the coffee tree right up until roasting. Our guide taught us so much about the whole process and if you love coffee as much as I do, you would love this tour!
